bethlem royal hospital
previously the site of the infamous ‘bedlam’, back in the victorian era it was quite busy. people would pay to watch the inmates, and the treatments were questionable. now, it belongs to the wonderlanders (as if they’d let it be turned into a museum). why? well, it’s where their dear alice departed this world, and where the cheshire cat staged a massacre in her name shortly after. this is now the ‘alice academy’ where alice’s who pass the test are taught the ways of wonderland.

buckingham palace
ah, the palace; the seat of the english monarchy. it’s a well-known tourist attraction now, particularly after the recent royal wedding. people come from all around the world to take a look at the palace, and to photograph themselves with the decorated palace guards. just don’t wave in front of their faces or shout at them to get them to move, though. that’s just mean.

tower bridge
perhaps one of the more well-known bridges in london. it looks beautiful at night, all lit up with the lights of cars, buses and taxis racing over it. there are walking sections too, making it more accessible to all than most bridges. it branches out over the thames with its decorative ‘towers’ on either end, and is situated by the tower of london itself; hence the name.

leicester square
the square; home to many restaurants, theatres, a beautiful square of green in the middle of the bustling city and, most importantly… m&m world. oh, it also has ripleys believe it or not and a few comedy clubs and cinemas but who cares about all that when you have m&ms, right? this place is always very busy, and a popular tourist destination.

london zoo
have you been to tiger territory yet? you know, they’ve just had some baby cubs born! london zoo is a stable tourist destination and just a great day out in london. with loads of different animals, events and exhibits open- it’s definitely not one to miss. the gift shop is pretty nifty, too!

east london docks
the perfect place to hide a body, really. i wish i was joking! there are many different spots along the docks, from the more intimidating sights that look as though they belong in a gangster movie- to the docklands, where the excel exhibition centre lies. cosplayers have a convention there every may and october (mcm), and other events are frequently held there.

hyde park
hyde park is huge, green and spotted with trees and water features. it’s a perfect oasis in the middle of the busy capital, and if it wasn’t for how busy it can get in the holidays and at the weekends; the perfect paradise. it does have opening and closing times though, so don’t expect to be able to stay there overnight. the park warden will catch you.

officially party central of london, and the main location for the lgbt community nightlife too. there are pubs, clubs and gay bars galore. the more popular clubs being g.a.y, tiger tiger and more. easily accessed from covent garden, chinatown and oxford street- it’s the place to be if you want to dance the night away, have fun or get lucky. just be sure you don’t miss the last tube home! though, there’s always the night buses…

camden market
there’s something for everyone in camden; from the hipsters to the goths to the geeks to the steam punks to the hippies to the wiccans to… well, everyone. there are shops, food stands (you can get a full lunch from free samples if you’re sly) and market stalls selling just about everything you could ever need, from bubble tea to american sweets to suits to post-apocalyptic princess wear. it literally has everything.

oxford street
shopping central. one of the busiest high streets in london, you’re lucky if you can move a mile within the hour. all the big brands can be found here; forever 21, selfridges, hmv, hamleys and of course, the flagship disney store. a huge tourist attraction, the air is full with at least five different languages. just try to avoid it in the holidays and you’ll be safe…

china town
it’s always a bit confusing when you first wander in here- usually accidentally- and feel like you’ve transported yourself to china by accident somehow. almost everything is written in chinese, and there’s no real sign of english civilisation anywhere. it has amazing sights to see during the chinese new year, and if you want real chinese food? this is obviously the place to get it. there’s also a supermarket, where you can buy all that food to make yourself at home, as well as other products.

bars and clubs
it goes without saying really, doesn’t it? this is where you can find all the bars and clubs not in soho- if your character doesn’t fancy going there- this is spread all over london; from shoreditch to baker street and beyond. if there’s a pub or nightclub there, you can thread it here.

the london underground
where the fucks my fucking train? for those who don’t live in london and don’t know the horrors that is the london transport system, please listen to this song and let yourself be enlightened. warning, though- it’s pretty explicit. delays, cancellations, lack of personal space, tube strikes and tube mice- that’s the underground in a nutshell.

schools and universities
this is where you can find any schools, colleges or universities in the area of london. please be advised that in the uk, 'college' amounts to 'sixth form', aka the final two years of a high school that allows such things. it's where you take your a-levels and is typically for the ages 17 & 18. essentially, college is like junior/senior years for you americans, and university is from 18+

is your precious baby needing a doctor? needing to go to hospital? are they a fireman or a policeman or are they perhaps getting arrested? all of the emergency services and their respective buildings can be found here; from doctors surgeries, to hospitals, to fire stations to police stations.

all homes that aren’t in the palace go here (with the exception of threads in the cheshire cat’s mansion). for example, these are the homes of the ordinary wonderlanders, and the small cottages built for alice’s upon the passing of their test.
